Fun for Friday: More Meow Wolf Photos!

On our recent roadtrip, we ended in Denver, where my youngest sister really wanted us all to go see Meow Wolf. She had previously been to the one in Santa Fe and enjoyed it, and I’d heard great things about it from my friends. So we went!

If you’re not familiar with Meow Wolf, it’s primarily a multi-artist art installation, but there’s a story in the art and the layout. The Denver Meow Wolf is also called Convergence Station, and it involves four alien words having collided with one another.

This week’s selection of pictures are from the Numina section. I’ll provide more details below!

The first photo depicts a long-legged quadrupedal creature standing on what looks like a rock surface with a similar wall behind. The creature has a small head with a pair of ears or horns; a neck like a llama or alpaca, with some fringe hanging from the underside of the neck; a multi-colored tube garment over its narrow, highly arched back; and long, straight, jointed legs. Lighting in the area casts a red glow over the creature.

The second photo depicts a rocky surface with three small holes. Two of the holes, at left and right, are filled with cross-woven strips of an iridescent material, which appears mostly green, with some gold or copper. The third hole, at the top, appears to be filled with something solid and non-glossy in similar colors, but paler.

The third photo depicts a humanoid laying in a flat spot in a broad-trunked tree, with thick hanks of hair trailing down the bulk of the trunk. The body and hair are both white to lavender, iridescent, and lightly veined in blue. The portion of the hair to the right is illuminated with red light, making it appear pink. Near the tree are what appear to be orange gilled fungi and a yellow-orange flower with wedge-shaped petals. There are also a couple of openings near the base of the tree trunk, one of which has red within, and the other of which has blue light coming from it.
