WriteHive 2026 Online Conference: Authors as Reviewers and Bookbloggers

Now that the videos from the 2026 WriteHive online conference are posted, I’ll be sharing some of those with quick summaries. This week, I’ll be talking about the “Authors as Reviewers and Bookbloggers” panel that I moderated!

I always love moderating panels, as it’s an opportunity for me to ask questions and learn stuff from smart people and help keep them on track. In this panel, the panelists spanned a wide range of preferred genres, though a lot of the process of reviewing is the same regardless of the book genre.

The panelists talked about the struggle to balance reading and reviewing with their own writing, the reasons why they like to review books, and even some suggestions to people interested in starting a book review blog or other social media (spoiler alert: nearly all of them said they wouldn’t start a book review blog in 2026, but I’m still here chugging away with mine!).

If the topic is of interest to you, the video of the panel is just over 45 minutes, and it’s available at WriteHive’s YouTube channel with many other wonderful panels on a variety of topics!
