“A Remnant of the Past” in Chimerical Remembrance
A lot of the stories within Chimerical Remembrance come from personal experiences, though in general, the details have been changed substantially. “A Remnant of the Past” is one such story. The setting of the story is my first apartment, which was allegedly used as a morgue during the Civil War. However, when I did a bit of research into the Civil War “battle” that took place in that town, it was little more than a skirmish in which there were no casualties.
Some of the spooky events of the story were also things that I experienced in that apartment, though how much of it was my imagination is a great question that I still ask myself. The story is only speculative by virtue of the possibility that those events are real, at least for Allie. And while I gave Allie some of my experiences, the characters are, for the most part, fictional.
