My Handmade Prompt Book

Back in November 2024, I snagged a thick, hot pink, wire-bound notebook. Since then, I’ve added scrapbook paper, stickers, washi tape, and other random ephemera to the pages. I also numbered all of the pages, each of which has some sort of theme. Some of the themes are very clear, while others just have a lot of stickers of a similar color palette.

Over the coming months (years, in reality), I’m planning to feature each of the pages on Mondays, and then show you how I turned them into prompts on Fridays. This won’t be every week, but there will be two or three each month (maybe four in months that have five Mondays or Fridays). Sometimes, I’ll be providing a list of prompts (which you could also create, or you can use mine), and other times, I’ll talk about my process to get from random images and colors to a story or poem idea. There are also a handful of pages throughout that are for reflections on the writing journey rather than prompts, so those weeks will only have the Monday post rather than Mondays and Fridays.

I hope some of my readers will find these prompts (and my processes) interesting! I’ll start posting them next Monday, and if I calculated correctly, this will take me through the end of 2030!
