What I’m Reading, Watching, and Listening To: May 2024

Clip art of headphones, TV screen, and cat reading a sheet of paperReading: I’ve actually been really bad about this lately. Work has been hectic, with lots of editing, so the last thing I want to do in the evenings is read. I need to get back on track with that, though, because those books won’t review themselves!

Watching: It’s been a whole lot of K-pop lately, but we did finally sit back down to finish Loki season 2 recently, and I’m still processing some of that. We also got to go to the movie theater to watch a K-pop concert recording (and interviews with the members), which was pretty dang cool. I think I want to see more concerts on the big screen! They have comfy seats, it’s not too loud, and it’s totally normal to have snacks while you watch!

Listening To: It feels like spring is the time when all the new K-pop groups start popping up, either with debuts or pre-debut, and a lot of the established groups are putting out new material. Really digging the new ONEWE (now that two of their members have completed their military service) and ONF (now that all of their obligated members have completed their military service–the Japanese member doesn’t have to). We also recently stumbled across Daylotus, which is like 90s screamy / Cookie Monster metal in Korean. And the members all look FABULOUS while doing it!
