Comic Recommendation: Sandman Presents The Dreaming

If you’ve known me for any length of time, you probably know I’m a HUGE Sandman fan. It’s the first comic I read in the order it was published (though most of it was out before I got started). I’ve kept up on some but not all of the various spin-offs and reboots and things. But for some reason, I missed reading Sandman Presents The Dreaming until recently.

This run really felt like the spiritual successor to Sandman. I could see the little threads of through-lines within this run, as well as links back to the original Sandman run. One of the things I love best about Sandman is how you can find the seeds of the entire series strewn about the first handful of issues, and they all tie up in a neat little bow by the end. This series had that same feel to it.

We only had the first nine issues (pictured here) in print, but I was able to finish out the series through our local library’s connection to Hoopla. It was awesome to be able to finish these nine issues and then read the remainder on my laptop over the next couple of days!
