Fantasy Stories and Poetry Out Recently
Since my last post of recent fantasy stories and poetry, I’ve had a few new fantasy pieces come out!
My Weathering Youth collection spans many genres, but the core of it involves fantasy stories, including some that are in the “traditional” (or non-contemporary) fantasy genre, like “Charming, Not Useful,” a somewhat ridiculous flash fiction take on an unnamed prince dealing with his lack of education in some matters. This collection also includes “Family Tree,” a short story about an orphaned young woman grieving the loss of her father but taking control of her own destiny. Other pieces, most of which are flash fiction or shorter, span the emotional spectrum between these two.
My poem, “Communications Between the Queen of the Sea and the Queen of the Sun, Sisters,” which appeared in Small Wonders in March has some cross-genre elements, but at its core, it is more of a fantasy setting.
I’ve got a couple more fantasy pieces accepted and waiting in the wings, so I’ll talk about those next time!
