Watch Me Read “Best of Both Worlds”

A couple of weeks ago, I read my short story, “Best of Both Worlds,” which originally appeared in Dangerous Waters, for Story Hour. This was my third appearance at Story Hour, which started in 2020 to give authors a venue to read online when we couldn’t read in person. But they’ve kept going even after in-person events have returned, so I was delighted to get another invitation!

My story is a selkie story, so it contains some coercive relationship elements and body horror, though the latter is mild. The second story on this episode is M. L. Krishnan’s “Measurements Expressed as Units of Separation,” fromĀ The Crawling Moon, and it is a bit darker than my story, but it’s well worth the listen! (She gives the pertinent content notes before starting her reading.)

You can watch both of these readings via Facebook!
