September 2026 Recap and Publications

Foggy let me take a rare photo of him while he was “helping” me work
By the numbers:
Stories out at the beginning of the month: 35
Acceptances received: 2
Rejections received: 7
Stories withdrawn: 0
Resubmissions: 10
New Submissions: 2
Stories out at the end of the month: 38
I didn’t manage to submit a lot of stories in September, but I managed to have more out at the end of the month than I did at the beginning, so I’m calling that a win! I also had two acceptances, both for drabbles from Reach Your Apex. Those were “Vampires Love Eclipses” and “Never Trust a Ouija Board.” I also revised two flash pieces that I wrote early this year and got those out on submission.
Aside from all that, I’ve mostly been working on editing and proofreading Cobalt City books and writing a “new” game. It’s less writing than Roz Remembers entails, as it’s a hack of the PbtA game Masks, which I’m reskinning to be a K-Pop Demon Hunters one-shot game that I’ll be running in November. I’ve also been watching videos from this year’s WriteHive and spent a long weekend participating in Flights of Foundry. So I’ve been keeping myself plenty busy!
In October, I’ll be working more on the Cobalt City books, releasing Unfixed Timelines 4, watching more WriteHive videos, revising more flash pieces and writing some poetry! This is all in preparation for knowing that I won’t get a lot done this November because of non-writing plans!
