History That Never Was

It’s time, once again for next month’s writing prompts! This time, we’re just about to head into September, which means autumn for the northern hemisphere!

I’ve got a collection of older September art challenges that I haven’t used before this month. The first column is from Catember 2025. How did I never know there was a Catember before? While the words here don’t involve cats directly, it’s easy enough to interpret the prompts in that direction if you want to!

The second column is from Xangelle.com, and if you click through the link, you’ll see that all of the words in this column are ones that can have two or more meanings. I really love that, as it leaves so much of it up to what pops into your head when you see or hear that word!

Finally, the third column is Doodlewash’s September 2025 prompts. I changed a few of the two-word prompts to a single word, especially when that word could also have more than one meaning.

There’s only one point of overlap this month, and it’s a word that can have more than one meaning, which adds the option of interpreting it a different way when it comes up the second time. You can also always ignore the second appearance, write on the same piece on two days, or whatever other workaround you like!
