History That Never Was

Time for the August 2026 writing prompts!

This month, the columns have a bit more overlap than usual, so I’ve tried to mark all of those with an asterisk where they’re identical or very similar.

The first column is The Petite Planner’s August 2025 #StopDropDoodle challenge. The words in this column are almost entirely magical things, which gives this a very fantasy vibe. If you want to try this on hard mode, try to reimagine these magical items in a sci-fi setting. Some of the words will be an easy switch to sci-fi, but others are harder. (Does a potion become medicine? What about fairy related things?)

Column 2 is a screenshot I found on Pinterest with no information about where it came from beyond that. It’s labeled “31-Day Drawing Challenge,” with all of the dates preceded by “August,” but beyond that, your guess is as good as mine. It does seem to have a strong nature theme to the items.

Finally, the third column is the Doodlewash August 2026 Art Challenge prompts. This column has a mix of summertime and miscellaneous words, which rounds things out nicely!
