“Propagating Rosa glacies” and “The Glass Cauldron Shattered” are two of the flash fiction pieces in Chimerical Remembrances, which fit nicely together, as they share a theme of magical revenge.

“Propagating Rosa glacies” is written from the perspective of a botanist giving advice on growing a particularly finicky plant. Their most important pieces of advice are tied to the aspiring gardener’s past hurt and wishes for revenge.

“The Glass Cauldron Shattered” is a story involving professorial tenure at a magical school and how one witch uses her knowledge and careful reading of the rules to her benefit.

“Propagating Rosa glacies” was originally published in the March 2025 issue of ALOCASIA, and “The Glass Cauldron Shattered” originally appeared in 99 Fleeting Fantasies in 2024. Both stories, along with other contemporary fantasy pieces, are included in Chimerical Remembrances, which is in ebook format only!
