Fun for Friday: April 2024 Writing Prompts

A security gate ripped from the front of a 7-11

Here we are at the end of March, so it’s time for the April 2024 writing prompts!

This month, all of the words come from art challenges.

The first column is from Doodlewash’s Spring Things challenge, and all of the words there are spring themed.

The second column is from the Kick in the Creatives’ April challenge, with slight modifications to reduce some of their prompts to single words or just a few words (and to Americanize their spellings).

The third column is from the 2021 April Colors challenge from Faunwood, which is a new one for me. This one may be slightly trickier to include in a written piece, but you could either make mention of the color(s) that the prompt suggests, or you could apply them to one of the other words. There are also some in this column that give a “X-minute study” prompt, which you might use instead as a timer, and write as much as you can within that block of time. The page linked here also gives more explanation of what some of these terms mean, in case you aren’t familiar with them!

Check back on the last Friday of each month (or occasionally the first day of a new month, when that falls on a Friday) for my History That Never Was writing prompts!
