Fun for Friday: January 2023 Writing Prompts

Snowy late December in Seattle

The new year is just around the corner, so it’s time for the January 2023 writing prompts!

The word lists this month are borrowed from other sources. Word 1 is from Kick in the Creatives, which is one of my favorite sources for great prompts, for January 2023. Word 2 is from Natural Beach Living‘s undated January prompts. (Note: the asterisk in this column is a change I made to use the preferred term for Indigenous peoples of Alaska.) Word 3 is the January 2022 list from Doodlewash.

I think there’s a nice mix of cold weather words and unrelated topics, which means you won’t have to write about snow all month. Unless you want to!

Check back on the last Friday of each month (or occasionally the first day of a new month, when that falls on a Friday) for my History That Never Was writing prompts!
