“Goblin Economics” in Conceits of Whim and Fancy
Sometimes, my stories come from a character voice that gets stuck in my head and won’t leave me alone until I tell their story. This is how “Goblin Economics” came about. Grom, the narrator of the story, popped into my head without much of a story, other than that he was a very clever goblin. I worked through several iterations of his cleverness before finally settling on the story that featured him and his cleverness to their best effect.
The end result was a surprisingly charming story about a goblin and a lich working out the logistics of an effective dungeon. You can find it inĀ Conceits of Whim and Fancy or online in Breath and Shadow!
