I’ve got a flash fiction piece out in a literary magazine, for their Literary-Speculative Issue. The story is “For the Weird Girls Who Want to Be Mermaids,” and you can find it at Orca: A Literary Journal.
I wrote the bulk of this story on a plane, though it underwent some big revisions later to get it to fully come together. But I loved the idea of an unknown heritage rearing its head in the best possible way.
