If you’d like to generate some story ideas while having a little fun at the same time, check out Wondermark’s Electro-Plasma Hydrocephalic Genre-Fiction Generator 2000. While it can give you a perfectly reasonable story idea, you can also pick and choose to come up with the most ridiculous possible idea if you like. Alternately, most of the lists have 12 items, so you can randomly choose through the use of a d12 (you’ll need a d8 for the “with the help of” list, and a d10, reroll if you get a 0, for the “and her” list).

Me, I’ll be writing “In an anachronistic Atlantis, a young idealistic revolutionary stumbles across a dusty tome, which spurs him into conflict with his own insecurity vis-a-vis girls, with the help of a sarcastic female techno-geek and her condescending tone, culminating in a heroic sacrifice that no one will ever remember.” The title is Cosmopunk. It practically writes itself!
