In addition to the above, my novella went out to beta readers! I now am trying not to check my E-mail obsessively, because I only sent it out five days ago. I suppose it’s unreasonable to expect people to have read and commented on it already. 🙂

My short story, “The Glorious Dead,” which is a zombie story set during the Civil War, was picked up for the second volume of Zombies Gone Wild. As soon as I’ve got a site to link to for this book, I will do so!

I had two resubmissions this month, even though I had only one rejection, because I had been sitting on one of my stories since February. I finally worked out the revisions that I wanted to make to it, and I think it’s a much stronger story for that effort. In fact, in reading through it again as I made the final tweaks, I was really pleased with how nicely it had shaped up! Fingers crossed that it finds a good home!

I’m anticipating hearing back on a couple of other stories any day now. Hopefully, I’ll have good news to report!

I still haven’t done much writing of new stuff, but I think revisions are an important part of the process as well. Now that they’re pretty much all out of the way and off my plate, I can get back to writing new things!

EDIT: After posting this, I received a second rejection for the month, and resubmitted that story. So the numbers got tweaked after the fact!
