History That Never Was

I’m currently in the midst of revising a novella, and I’ve definitely hit the mucky middle. I didn’t feel like it slowed down substantially when I was writing this part of the book, but now I’m second-guessing everything I’ve written, all the parts I’ve revised, and all the parts I haven’t revised. It’s sort of a mess!

But I keep pushing myself through it, because I know that this is part of the process. I tell myself that if I can get to the end, I can send this book to my favorite beta reader, and she’ll read it quickly and tell me what she thinks. Then I’ll have an even clearer path forward on the work I need to do.

For now, all I really need to do is make sure there aren’t a ton of embarrassing typos!
