Getting Ready for the Spooky Season with Conceits of Whim and Fancy

Conceits of Whim and Fancy isn’t really a collection of spooky stories, but it does involve a lot of supernatural creatures, like witches, familiars, faeries, skeletal warriors, goblins, and liches. The majority of the stories in this collection are kid friendly, as well, which makes this collection a fun one to share with little ones as not-too-spooky but seasonally appropriate bedtime stories!

“Goblin Economics” is a slightly silly story involving goblins and liches. “Princess Last Picked” has brave kids dealing with an evil witch, and “Nectar Shortage” involves a human and faeries dealing with the same. “The Waypost Tree” and “Muss” both involve good witches and their familiars. “Just Add Holy Water” is a sweet story about a skeletal warrior and a young girl working together. “Fashion Statement” has faerie seamstresses and a young princess finding her own path.

It’s worth noting that while these stories are all kid friendly, some of them do involve death or illness as a plot element, so it’s worth checking them out before you share them with the little ones in your life! But if you decide they’re just right for bedtime reads, you can get Conceits of Whim and Fancy in ebook or paperback!
