March 2025 Recap

A couple of little guys on my bedside table. The ghost glows in the dark!

By the numbers:
Stories out at the beginning of the month: 44*
Acceptances received: 3
Rejections received: 17 (+1)
Stories withdrawn: 0
Resubmissions: 19
New Submissions: 11
Stories out at the end of the month: 53

March was, predictably, a little slow on the submissions front, though I did get a bunch of pieces I finished late in 2024 out, which are the 11 new submissions here. And I got three acceptances–two drabbles and a poem–which was nice! (I also have an asterisk on my stories out at the beginning of the month because I realized after I had posted that because I’m tracking poetry submissions in clusters now, my records were slightly off.)

In March, I finished my outline for Sure Shot 3 and wrote a small amount of it, wrote four poems, did video editing work for Flights of Foundry, reviewed a book, and read all of the appendices in the craft book!

In April, I’m going to TRY to:

  • Write the bulk of Sure Shot 3
  • Revise four flash fiction pieces
  • Revise four poems
  • More video editing for Flights of Foundry (target of 7 videos)
  • Complete 10 of the additional exercises from the craft book
  • Edit an academic article for a freelance client

That’s a bit more work, and if anything falls by the wayside, it’s likely to be the novella writing–I would really love to get it written, but my schedule right now is a bit more hectic than I’d like. But I’m at least going to TRY.
