History That Never Was

In Seattle, we say “Mountain’s out” when you can see Mount Rainier from the city. This was a cold day in early December from the UW campus!

It’s time for the first writing prompts for 2025! This month, I took the prompts from three different art challenges.

The first column is the Kick in the Creatives January art prompt list, with some of the prompts shortened slightly and Americanized.

The second column is from Blenduary 2025, which is normally an art challenge using the Blender 3D modeling software. But the prompts make good writing prompts, too, introducing some cool visual elements to the prompts!

Finally, the third column is from the 2018 Creatuary art challenge involving a variety of creatures as the prompts. For some of the ones in this column, you may need to look up what the creature in question is–there were a lot on this list I’m not familiar with! But this makes it a cool way to learn about some creatures from different cultures and parts of the world!
