History That Never Was

The Emperor tarot card represents authority, power, and stability, all with a bit of a patriarchal vibe (traditionally). In A Tarot of Sorcery and Sages, this is represented by a haiku and a poem.

For both of my Emperor pieces, I decided to diverge from the traditional patriarchal vibe. The haiku, “Greetings from the Sisterhood,” envisions an organization of authority and power comprising women. “She Does Not Need” is a longer poem about a woman leader and how she presents strong leadership in her particular situation.

Both of these poems are exclusive to A Tarot of Sorcery and Sages, where they sit alongside other poems and stories reflecting each of the Major Arcana of the tarot!
