What I’m Reading, Watching, and Listening To, August 2024

Clip art of headphones, TV screen, and cat reading a sheet of paperReading: Books to review. On the craft side of things, I’m finishing up The Wayward Writer by Ariel Gore, and once that’s done, I’ve got a couple of other similar books to work my way through. I might take a short break, though, as I’ve been working through The Wayward Writer for more than a year and a half, with a couple of breaks for vacations.

Watching: Almost entirely K-pop videos and K-pop related content, recently, because I haven’t had a whole lot of time for other things. We did watch an interesting video on Tips for Neurodivergent Players, which includes tips for neurotypical gamers and GMs who game with neurodivergent players as well. So whether you’re neurodivergent or neurotypical, if you game, it’s a worthwhile watch!

Listening To: A bunch of my favorite K-pop artists, including Stray Kids, Twice, and Dreamcatcher, have all had recent new releases. Also really loving XY, which is a J-pop/J-rock group created by Yoshiki, a member of X Japan and one of the forerunners of the visual kei movement. XY, Yoshiki, and visual kei are all a fun musical rabbit hole to get lost in, so look them up if you’re interested! (Searching “XY jpop” is your best bet to find things not related to chromosomes. K-pop and J-pop are both not great at SEO for English-speaking audiences.)
