“The Toad Catcher’s Wife” in Conceits of Whim and Fancy
“The Toad Catcher’s Wife” was another of my Drawlloween pieces, this one with a prompt of toad. And, as expected, the toad starts out with a witch, but there’s a bit of a twist on the curse placed on this particular toad. It took a bit of work to get this story just right, but I am pleased with how it subverts fairy tales and has a happy ending that isn’t the ending most fairy tales call for.
