Urban Fantasy Reading!
If you enjoy urban fantasy books and stories, I’ve got a few books that might fit the bill!
For slightly darker contemporary fantasy short stories, check out Volatile Figments. The six stories each feature a different female protagonist dealing with something unusual and sinister.
If you’d prefer something novella length with only minor urban fantasy elements, Cross and Circle is the book for you! This one’s got mystery, female protagonists, and just a hint of something magical going on.
My novel, Promise Me Nothing is young adult urban fantasy, with supernatural creatures and more making the main character’s life difficult. But Briar can handle it, with a little help from her friends. (And if you jump on it quickly, Promise Me Nothing is also available in SFWA’s “Magic Awakens” StoryBundle through April 28th!)
Finally, Intercity Illusions is my collection of urban fantasy stories and poetry. The topics and themes in this collection range widely, but it’s got lighter in tone than Volatile Figments.
If you are looking for a physical book, Promise Me Nothing and Intercity Illusions are both available in ebook or print. Cross and Circle and Volatile Figments are only available as ebooks. (Cross and Circle can also be read online with a subscription on Channillo.) All of the books are appropriate for teenagers and older, though Volatile Figments has some more frightening elements, particularly in the stories “After School Special” and “Justice is Blind.”
