“Vodyanoi” in New Moons Under Which to Sleep
“Vodyanoi” is one of the oldest stories I’ve written, being over a decade old at this point. It’s been published a couple of times, but I also very much wanted to include it in a sci-fi collection, once I had enough to make such a collection.
It’s a strange story, inspired by a song (“Strange Machines” by The Gathering), and with mythological monsters, time travel, and the Romanovs. Not necessarily things you’d put together in a normal story, but this is also the earliest example I have of “things in the water that want you dead.” This story is ALL about that.
You can find “Vodyanoi” inĀ New Moons Under Which to Sleep, along with other sci-fi stories and poetry!
