“Praxidikai” in Old Legends and New Fables
“Praxidikai” is one of the stories in Old Legends and New Fables that really spans both parts of the collection’s title. It’s a modern story that features a reinterpreted version of an old legend, living in modern times. I can’t say too much about who that is without giving away the ending, unfortunately. But it’s in the vein of reimagining Greek and Roman deities for the modern era.
The photo shoot in the beginning of the story is loosely inspired by an actual photographer and model I saw at the laundromat, doing a photo shoot … in the middle of a laundromat? It was so weird and out of place that I absolutely had to write about it, putting my own spin on the details.
