My Post-Apocalyptic Books!

If you enjoy reading things set after the collapse of society as we know it, you might enjoy my post-apocalyptic books!

Scenes from a Quiet Apocalypse is a strange, experimental novella, in which each chapter is based on a card from the major arcana of the tarot deck. The story that ties them all together is the idea that people stopped talking and instead, the majority started communicating silently, and shut out those who still spoke aloud. It’s a very different sort of apocalypse, but a lot of the bits of post-apocalyptic fiction can still be found in this novella.

Barren follows a more traditional narrative pattern, as it traces Lemy’s journey from what she knows and understands into the unknown of another place and society. Barren is set decades after the ocean levels rose quickly and dramatically, wiping out huge swaths of coastal land and much of the Earth’s population. But this apocalypse was followed by a second devastating event, in which plants stopped growing and humanity was no longer able to reproduce.

Both of my post-apocalyptic books are novella length, with Scenes from a Quiet Apocalypse clocking in much shorter than Barren. These books are generally written for adults, with some adult situations alluded to, though not described graphically. They also both involve some violence and bloodshed.

Both books are only available in ebook format at present. But that just means you can pack lighter if you’re headed into a post-apocalyptic wasteland.
