Review of The Bathwater Conspiracy by Janet Kellough
My latest book review is up at Mad Scientist Journal. Today, I’m reviewing The Bathwater Conspiracy by Janet Kellough, which was a fast read for me, both in terms of book length and the page-turning quality of the story. I read the whole thing in under 4 hours on the plane back from Philadelphia!
I don’t read a lot of mystery novels, but this one injects a speculative fiction element to the mystery, so it was a lot more appealing to me than a mystery where the characters and situations could be pulled directly from the real world.
I’ve added a content warning to my review that I want to share here as well, before you go read my review: “It should be noted that the book does feature off-screen sexual assault and brief descriptions of the brutalized murder victim. Though the topic is handled in a respectful fashion, it may dissuade some readers from this book.” I think it’s important for readers to know what they’re getting into prior to reading a book, and this one definitely merits a content warning.
