Sometimes, the best way to come up with a writing prompt is to look for something utterly strange or unbelievable, because truth is stranger than fiction.

Electric Literature has collected ideas for stories or novels from weird Wikipedia articles. Even if you don’t find one on this list that speaks to you, simply the idea of browsing random articles on Wikipedia and/or clicking on links in Wikipedia articles until you wind up on a page that strikes you as a good idea for a story can be fun.

The list that Electric Literature presents includes “human mail,” which is an article I’ve read in the past while working on my story “Parcel Post.” So I can say with some authority that Wikipedia is full of information that can be turned into stories!
