What Sort of Apocalypse?

Cover art for Scenes from a Quiet ApocalypseScenes from a Quiet Apocalypse promises an apocalypse right upfront in the title, but what sort of apocalypse is it?

Sudden, inexplicable, and weird. Those are all words I’d use to describe the apocalypse. A huge swath of the population suddenly goes quiet, their thoughts are no longer their own, and they work in concert, like a hivemind. Scenes from a Quiet Apocalypse doesn’t touch the how or why, really, simply that it happened. Since the main character, Destiny, is on the outside, there’s a lot she doesn’t understand, and the narrative reflects that fact.

There are parallels to other apocalypses, in that the Quiet Ones are a bit like zombies (without the violence and brain eating), or in that the unaffected population is truly decimated (though the Quiet Ones aren’t dead, just no longer part of society as we know it).

So if you’re tired of “normal” apocalypses, check out Scenes from a Quiet Apocalypse for a different sort of apocalypse story!
