Writing Down Story Ideas

I’ve got notes in a variety of places that are meant to be story ideas, but not all of them seem to work as such. This article has an explanation of why that might be, and advice on what you can do to make your written down story idea notes work even if they sit and simmer for a long period of time. Since I, like most writers, have an abundance of notebooks, I’ve got plenty to leave one and a pen in many of the spots I might come up with an idea. (Still working on the safest and best ways to keep ideas I get while I’m driving alone or in the shower, two of the places where I get my best thoughts.) Adding this advice to what I’ve already gotten in the habit of writing down may help these ideas flourish for even longer!
