My recap is a little delayed this month because I hit the ground running with my NaNoWriMo novel as of November 1st, and haven’t had much time to look back.
The numbers are pretty boring this month. I did have the rights on one story revert to me, so I added that back into the pool, which is how I have more resubmissions than rejections. And the last of the rejections came late enough in the month that I didn’t get the story resubmitted until the beginning of this month.
October didn’t feel like a terribly productive month for me, unfortunately. The one story I planned to work on (record) didn’t want to come together, so I backburnered it, in favor of my other projects. I did finish my edits on pirates (which is now out to beta readers), and outlined island, so those were both productive things. It just wasn’t much in the way of new words.
This month, of course, is NaNoWriMo. But because November always likes to be a chaotic month, I’m actually only going to be spending 15 days of the month working on my novel. And yet I still intend to hit 50,000 words. So every day I do write, my target is double the normal NaNo word count, which makes it extra challenging. But then I can take a week and a half off in the middle of the month for a convention, a visit from my brother, and a craft show, then finish up my 50K words the week of Thanksgiving. It’s definitely doable, but three days in, I can say it’s not for the faint of heart. Especially not for the faint of heart who also have a day job and other responsibilities.
