April recap

By the numbers
Stories out at the beginning of the month: 5
Acceptances received: 0
Rejections received: 2 (*)
Resubmissions: 2
New Submissions: 0
Stories out at the end of the month: 5

The asterisk on rejections is because I technically received one rejection. The other “rejection” was in the form of an anthology I had submitted my story to being cancelled. Interestingly, that’s the second anthology that I’ve tried to submit this story to that has been cancelled.

I wrote one review, but I also finished the first round of edits on my novella manuscript. The hubbie is looking at that, then there will be a round of revisions, and then off to some beta readers. I also finished the edits on the second draft of hubbie’s novella. And I did a bunch of noodling for a short story, but I’ve since decided to rework it substantially. I outlined what I need to write last night, so I’m hoping to get it done in a week or two.

May should also be some revisions to another story, which the hubbie thinks could be a novel. I’d prefer it to stay in the short story range, but it could end up going longer. We’ll see about that. (I already know what I want to write for NaNo this year, so I’m trying NOT to end up with another novel on my plate! The forced productivity of NaNo works for me, but I can’t seem to enforce it most of the rest of the year.)
