Friday Recap

Since I’m doing the Write1Sub1 challenge this year, and also because one of the fine ladies from the retreat is checking in with the Seattle contingent weekly to see what we’ve done during the week, I’m taking a careful look at what I’ve accomplished each week. So here’s my first Friday Recap!

I got two book reviews finished and sent off to the Nevermet Press. The first one went up yesterday, and the next one will go up in a couple of weeks. I’ll also be writing some more reviews in the coming months, and of course I’ll be sure to post about those when they go live.

In terms of fiction, I worked some more on my “apocalypse” story (I wrote somewhere between 1,000-1,500 words, I think), but I ran into a big snag with it. I’m not entirely sure where I’m going with the story, you see. I’ve tossed around a few ideas in my head already this morning, but nothing has quite stuck yet. I’ve got a friend looking it over today, so perhaps something she suggests will point me in the right direction. If not, I do have a couple of other stories that I’ve started working on. I might be able to manage to finish one of those in the next 11 days, right?

This weekend, I’m headed to RustyCon, which is a small local convention. The hubbie is on four panels, but I’m just going as a spectator. I’ve been over the schedule, and I think I may have some downtime while I’m there. Hopefully I can translate that into writing time, somehow!
